  • Hello, I am very interested in photos of lightning also. And about two years ago I happened to get lucky and get two photographs in the middle of a lightning storm what was so amazing about one of the photos is that it looks like an image of a face . As a matter of fact, this is not a joke it looks like a devil.! I am not kidding, I have showed it to several people and they see it to!! Anyway I just thought maybe you could give me some explanation for this?? Thank -you Jan Greer

  • I would just like to say that your website is very, very good and has inspired me to take those pictures which you have kindly donated to your website. I have always mulled over the idea of lightning photography but seldom get round to it. My sister lives in Holland and tells me the storms are always far more productive. May i once again take this opportunity to congratulate you on what is obviously a well thought out site. Matt

  • Firstly, I want to congratulate you with your work. I noticed that your pictures may be very useful for didactical purposes (I follow a teacher's training, which includes geography); so someday, I may ask permission to use some of them in class. I really loved the series about the solar eclipse, by the way.

  • Thank you so much for these beautiful pictures. I am not a photographer but am fascinated by all of your photos. I have never seen the aurora borealis and didn't realize how vivid the colors actually are. We do have strong thunderstorms here after a very hot and humid spell but the lightening flashes are so quick that we can't appreciate their actual form. Thank you for these lovely pictures!! • I do a lot of night, suset and sunrise photograpy. Your site is very enjoyable and I will use some of your helpful information to try to photograph an Aurora Borealis tonight if it reaches to us. I was out 2 nights ago trying to get some lightning with my Nikon F-3 with 2.8/24MM wide angle using Fujichrome Provia 400-F. Thank you for your wealth of information and great photos.

  • Your photos are beautiful. We are expecting a storm tonight and my camera is set to go but I bought 800 ASA and from reading the information you supplied ASA 100 is fine. Is it better to use 800 or does it make a difference other than paying more for a faster speed film.
